Chautauqua Live is proud to present the world premiere of Diggers! This musical production is the 2nd in a 4-part series that depicts the unique development of the Canadian Mormon Trail communities. Set in Magrath, Alberta, this musical tells the visionary story of taming the St. Mary river to turn the wild prairie into a pastoral paradise. For the Mormons who were called to bring this vision to life, the ambitious task of digging over 115 miles of irrigation canal by hand brought with it many challenges and lessons of faith, hard work, and miracles. You won’t want to miss this critical part of Alberta's agricultural and rural history.
The musical runs from June 13th to 17th, 2017 at the Raymond Playhouse Theatre on Broadway in Raymond, Alberta. To learn more, visit the Canada's Mormon Trail Chautauqua Facebook page. This production is part of a 2-day Chautauqua (Shuh-tawk-wuh) with over 60 family-friendly activities which are based on the 4 Traditional Chautauqua Pillars of Education, Cultural Arts, Religious / Spiritual Exploration and Recreation.
Tickets are $15 and you can buy them now at www.cardstoncommunitytheatre.com or at the Town Offices of Cardston, Magrath, Raymond, or Stirling.
